Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a well-studied, evidence-based treatment developed by Marsha Linehan PhD. DBT offers a structured approach to address a wide range of emotion regulation struggles and difficulties including eating disorders, substance use, bi-polar, treatment resistant depression and interpersonal conflict. The ultimate goal of DBT is help you live the life you want to live. This is done through a process of exploring what has been getting in the way and creating strategies to overcome these barriers. Additionally, DBT uses a skills group in combination with individual sessions to increase effective behaviors that will help you to achieve your life worth living.
Paradox Therapy also offers treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety, Grief and Trauma.
Every person's journey of healing looks a little different and this is where individual sessions are a little different for everyone. Whether the time is structured or just used as a safe place to speak and explore freely, ultimately it is your time.
I currently offer a virtual DBT Skills group on Thursdays at noon. This group is open to clients of Paradox Therapy and clients who are seeing individual therapists in the community.
If you are interested, please reach out and I can offer more detailed information!
